The automotive industry faces difficult challenges in combating rust and corrosion in terms of both cost and environmental aspects. To help protect components during manufacture, chemists at Cortec Laboratories have developed advanced products to protect transmission parts and other components during manufacture, storage and transport. BioCorr ATF is proof of this. BioCorr ATF rust inhibitor is an emulsion that combines film-forming additives with VpCI rust inhibitors (vci) to provide protection for most metals and is an excellent environmental choice for petroleum-based products. BioCorr ATF provides indoor protection for up to 2 years, and can be used as transport protection in combination with VpCI (vci) packaging materials.
Dry - invisible protective film
Unlike anti-corrosion oils, BioCorr ATF provides a dry film on the surface that is virtually invisible. This property provides a clean working environment around the workstation and for the fitters. In addition, the product is biodegradable, eliminating costly disposal, which is common with other conventional oil-based products.
The ultra-thin, protective layer of BioCorr ATF does not alter tolerances, making robot assembly possible without first cleaning the components. It is also compatible with engine and gear oils and does not affect non-metallic gaskets, seals, plastics or rubber. The product fulfils the ASTM D 1748 standard. Read more about our products here.
