Driconeq develops, produces and distributes advanced drilling equipment for, among other things, mining, well drilling, construction and mineral extraction.
From Sunne in Värmland, details are sent directly to e.g. Africa. In such transports, high demands are placed on rust protection, at the same time that strong petroleum products are not an alternative for Driconeq from an occupational health - environmental perspective.
Using Tribotecs environmentally adapted VCI (VpCI) technology, a rust protection solution could be implemented that suited Driconeq's requirements for rust protection, environment and application method.
Cortec 325 is well suited to the requirement for strong rust protection during long transports, while the rust protection is easy to apply.
Cortec 325 has a vegetable oil base, which also led to a great improvement from a working environment point of view.
Cortec VpCI 325 is used to protect wire, pipes, flanges and other finely machined surfaces, weapons etc. The product is excellent for: maintenance, lubrication, temporary storage and for the protection of small/large metal parts. VCI Rust Protection provides protection for up to 24 months for ferrous materials, galvanized steel, aluminium, copper, brass, zinc, cadmium and silver.
VpCI 325 forms a film on the metal surface and protects in two stages as below:
- Step 1: Oil-based corrosion inhibitors form a tough film that has very good adhesion to the metal surface.
- Step 2: Vapor phase inhibitors are released into the air above the oil and protect all the surfaces not in contact with the oil film.

VpCI®-325 is a safe, easy-to-use, environmentally and user-friendly product based on biodegradable vegetable oil.
The rust protection is applied by dipping or by spraying.
The product dissolves frozen and stuck rusted parts and makes them easy to dismantle. VpCI 325 meets military specifications according to MIL-C-81309E, NACE standard 0487-2000 and meets RoHS regulations.
