Driconeq develops, produces and distributes advanced drilling equipment for applications such as mining, well drilling, construction and mineral extraction.

From Sunne in Värmland, parts are sent directly to Africa and elsewhere. Such transport places high demands on corrosion protection, while strong petroleum products are not an option for Driconeq from an occupational health and environmental perspective.

With the help of Tribotecs environmentally friendly VCI (VpCI) technology, a corrosion protection solution could be implemented that suited Driconeq's requirements for corrosion protection, environment and application method.

Cortec 325 is well suited to the requirement for strong corrosion protection during long journeys, while the corrosion protection is easy to apply.

Cortec 325 has a vegetable oil base, which also brought a major improvement from a health and safety point of view.

Cortec VpCI 325 is used for the protection of wire, pipes, flanges and other finely machined surfaces, weapons, etc. The product is ideal for: maintenance, lubrication, temporary storage and for the protection of small/large metal parts. VCI Rust Protection provides protection for up to 24 months for ferrous materials, galvanised steel, aluminium, copper, brass, zinc, cadmium and silver.

VpCI 325 forms a film on the metal surface and protects in two steps as shown below:

  • Step 1: Oil-dissolved corrosion inhibitors form a tough film that has very good adhesion to the metal surface.
  • Step 2: Vapour phase inhibitors are released into the air above the oil, protecting all surfaces not in contact with the oil film.

Cortec vci corrosion protection provides complete protection even for internal parts.

VpCI®-325 is a safe, easy to work with, environmentally and user-friendly product based on biodegradable vegetable oil.

The rust inhibitor is applied by dipping or spraying.

The product loosens frozen and rusted parts and makes them easy to disassemble. VpCI 325 fulfils military specifications according to MIL-C-81309E, NACE standard 0487-2000 and meets RoHS regulations.
