Conformal coating - Protect your circuit boards from aggressive media

Conformal coating is used to protect the micro environment around the PCB and its components. A thin layer is applied to protect from aggressive media such as heat, chemicals, humidity, salts, or any other environment that can damage the function of a circuit board.

Cortec's new conformal coating ElectriCorr VpCI 286 is acrylic-based, non-electrically conductive and combines very strong moisture protection with Cortec's patented Vci corrosion inhibitor (VpCI technology). The Vci coating forms a barrier and protects the components on the PCB from harsh treatment during installation and reduces the stress from mechanical and thermal impact.

ElectriCorr is 1-component which makes it easier to use than 2-component coatings as costly mixing equipment and mixer systems are not needed.

ElectriCorr contains a fluorocene that allows you to see where the coating is when the circuit board is illuminated with UV light.

Product characteristics:

  • Vibration resistant
  • Very good insulating properties
  • Continuous corrosion protection
  • Dries quickly
  • Free from organic solvents
  • Available in bulk and aerosol packaging.

ElectriCorr fulfils Mil-I-46058C, paragraph 3.10 / 3.11 and the requirements of RoHS and REACH.
