Rust protection for concrete

Contact Us

Migrating corrosion inhibitors, MCI, are developed to protect the reinforcement in concrete structures. This rust protection for concrete can be added directly to the concrete mix in new construction or used in the restoration of existing buildings/structures. Concrete with added MCI products is cast and hardens in the same way as untreated concrete. The MCI migrates through the concrete and is attracted to the embedded reinforcing bars, bonding to them and forming a protective MCI layer. The MCI layer dampens the chemical reaction between chlorides and metal and thus prevents corrosion. For more information about Cortec MCI products and areas of use.

The MCI products provide powerful protection against the harmful impact of road salt on bridges and other infrastructure parts, the impact of salt-saturated air on coastal facilities and buildings and the degrading impact due to acidified precipitation.
