Momentive Performace Materials announces that some silicone gels are being withdrawn from the range. This includes the products RTV 6129-D1, RTV6166 and RTV6169. These materials have been around for many years, but in recent years Momentive has developed so many great new materials that these three are no longer needed.
Examples of modern silicone gels include TSE3070, TSE3062 or Gel 6209FC. All three have very good technical properties - they are completely optically clear and do not yellow under prolonged UV exposure or in high heat. They are very work environment friendly and odourless. They do not 'bleed' silicone oil and can be used to advantage in optical lamination, LED moulding, cable sealing or as a general electronics moulding compound.
