Momentive Performance Materials announces that some silicone gels are no longer in the range. It includes the products RTV 6129-D1, RTV6166 and RTV6169. These materials have been around for many years, but in recent years Momentive has produced so many great new materials that these three are no longer needed.
Examples of modern silicone gels include TSE3070, TSE3062 or Gel 6209FC. All three of these have very fine technical properties – they are completely optically clear and do not yellow under prolonged UV exposure or in high heat. They are very environmentally friendly and odorless. They do not "bleed" silicone oil and can be advantageously used in optical lamination, LED embedding, sealing of cables or as a general embedding compound for electronics.
