Tribotec contributes to a sustainable society
In our role as a distributor of chemical products to industry, we have a responsibility with regard to the impact on human health, the environment and the use of the Earth’s resources. Although we do not manufacture the products we sell ourselves, we can make a difference through the suppliers, products and solutions we choose to offer our customers.

Sustainability is a natural part of our business.
Through thorough product assessments, responsible chemical management and active dialogue with suppliers, we strive to offer products with a lower impact on health and the environment. At the same time, we help our customers create safer working environments, reduce resource consumption and extend the service life of products and components through preventive maintenance, corrosion protection and technical advice.
Our sustainability work has also been recognised by EcoVadis, which has awarded Tribotec a gold medal for its sustainability efforts – a recognition that places us amongst the top-rated companies globally in areas such as the environment, business ethics, sustainable procurement and social responsibility.
Products that stand out
In our product overview and in the product gallery here on the website, we have highlighted all the products that we wish to recommend as particularly good choices from an environmental and health perspective. We are constantly working to develop more options within our wide range.

Product not subject to labelling
There are several products on the market today that are not subject to labelling requirements, i.e. they do not bear a warning symbol or pictogram. We wish to promote a good working environment and are therefore actively working to include more products in our range that have as little negative impact on health and the environment as possible.

NSF, Food Approval
There are two types of NSF classifications: H1 and H2. NSF H1 means that a lubricant is approved for use in incidental contact with food. NSF H2 covers lubricants that must not be used where there is a risk of contact with food, but which may be used in closed systems.
How we are working towards the UN’s climate targets
Based on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, we have chosen to focus on the areas where we can make the greatest difference through concrete actions, clear improvements and a long-term commitment. Our priority goals reflect those aspects of sustainability work where Tribotec’s operations have the greatest potential to contribute to positive change.

Goal 3: Good health and well-being
With a particular focus on sub-target 3.9:
Reduce the number of cases of illness and deaths caused by hazardous chemicals and pollution
Tribotec works to promote a safer and healthier working environment by offering products that have as little impact on people and the environment as possible. Through systematic review of new products and chemicals, we ensure that our product range complies with current legal requirements and our internal safety standards. Where possible, our suppliers work actively to phase out substances with particularly hazardous properties and replace them with safer alternatives without compromising on performance or quality. Through advice, training and clear product information, we also help our customers to minimise the risks associated with the use of chemical products.

Goal 9: Sustainable industry, innovation and infrastructure
With a particular focus on sub-target 9.4:
Upgrading industry to improve sustainability and resource efficiency
Tribotec contributes to a more sustainable industry through products and solutions that extend the service life of equipment, components and materials. Our corrosion protection products, lubricants, adhesives and technical solutions help customers reduce scrapping, maintenance costs and unnecessary resource consumption. Through technical support, training and product development, we promote a more resource-efficient use of materials and help to reduce the industry’s environmental impact over time.

Goal 12: Sustainable consumption and production
With a particular focus on sub-target 12.4:
Responsible management of chemicals and waste
Responsible chemical management is a key part of Tribotec’s operations. We operate in accordance with the precautionary principle set out in the Environmental Code – which means we take preventive measures to avoid risks before any harm occurs – and strive to minimise any negative impact on human health or the environment. Through a wide range of environmentally friendly alternatives, such as bio-based products, recycled materials, products not subject to labelling requirements and food-grade alternatives, we help our customers make more sustainable choices. We also offer training and advice on the safe use of chemicals to improve knowledge and reduce the risk of harm and emissions.
