Rust removal and rust conversion

Before applying new rust protection, it is important to deal with existing corrosion. Depending on whether you want to dissolve the rust completely to obtain clean metal, or whether you want to stabilise it to be able to paint directly on top, different approaches are required. We offer solutions that are both effective and gentle on the base metal.

We recommend in the first place Cortec 422 for those looking for an environmentally friendly and biodegradable rust remover that deep cleans the surface without damaging the surrounding plastic, paint or rubber.

For tougher oxidation on both steel and aluminium, the fast-acting acid wash is Cortec 426 the optimal choice as it effectively prepares the surface for further treatment.

In cases where mechanical rust removal is difficult, we recommend instead CorrVerter, a unique rust converting product that penetrates the rust and converts it into a stable protective layer that is immediately ready to be painted over.
