Industrial silicone

We have extensive experience in industrial bonding, sealing and encapsulation and provide industrial silicone for many different applications. Silicone is not classed as a thermoset and many of the products are therefore very friendly to work with in a production process. What types of materials should you bond? What strength is required? What is the production process like? Do you need UL approval?

Protect sensitive electronics with industrial silicone

Shock, vibration, chemicals, heat, cold, condensation. There are many things that sensitive electronics are exposed to. Tribotec can offer optimal protection through a variety of products such as RTV silicone, gel, varnish, support bonding, encapsulation, moulding and paint applications. In the electronics industry, silicone is used to protect against corrosion and impact in particular. It is an extremely good electrical insulator and is not affected by water or moisture even in the very long term.

According to UL standard

For the export of electrical equipment, it is often a requirement that products fulfil UL standards. Tribotec has a wide range of UL-approved materials to choose from.

Many benefits of industrial silicone

Silicones are substances with silicon as their base. They come in many different varieties and forms, such as oil, grease, rubber, liquids, resins and powders. The silicon content gives products a number of technical advantages that organic materials lack.

High temperature resistance

Of all adhesives, silicone generally offers the highest resistance to temperatures above 150°C. Ovens, LED luminaires, car engine components - all have to withstand high temperatures for a long time, which is why silicone as an adhesive and protective material is the natural choice.

Withstands UV radiation

Silicones are hardly affected at all by strong UV radiation, unlike most other types of adhesives. Products that are to be left outside (solar collectors, aerospace equipment parts, road signs, etc.) are therefore often glued and protected with different types of industrial silicone.

Flexible in low freezing temperatures

Silicone polymers and rubbers retain their mechanical properties down to -60°C, some even lower. Refrigerators, freezers, laboratory equipment and aeroplane parts are typical applications where silicones are needed to cope with the low temperatures.

Resistant to water and moisture

Silicones are not degraded by water or moisture even over long periods of time and water absorption is minimal. Therefore, industrial silicone retains its mechanical properties and quality is assured for the life of the product. For underwater, outdoor and humid environments, industrial silicone is a safe material choice.

Resistant to chemicals

Silicones are generally a good choice as a sealant against chemicals, and the choice of products is wide. Consult Tribotec for the right product for your application.

Food Authorised

Silicone is an inert material, and does not react with substances in its environment. Therefore, silicone-based products are well suited for food and medical technology. Tribotec has a large number of products approved according to FDA regulations in particular.

Good working environment

As industrial silicone is not classified as a thermoset, the products are often safe and easy to handle. Thanks to this, you generally do not need to make special adjustments to the workplace.
