Tribotec contributes to a sustainable society

In our role as a distributor of chemicals, we at Tribotec have a great responsibility, especially when it comes to the impact on human health and the environment, and therefore sustainability work is a natural part of our everyday life. Based on the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals, Tribotec has selected a few focus areas that we believe form the basis for our continuous sustainability work.

Objective 3: Health and well-being

With a particular focus on target 3.9 Reduce the number of illnesses and deaths caused by harmful chemicals and pollutants

Tribotec's overarching goal is to offer our customers products with a minimal impact on health and the environment, which is increasingly demanded by our customers. By reviewing all new chemicals purchased, we monitor classification and labelling based on the current REACH and CLP criteria, and eliminate chemicals that are carcinogenic, reprotoxic and mutagenic. Our aim is to continue to phase out hazardous chemicals from our range in favour of safer alternatives, without compromising on quality.

Goal 8: decent work and economic growth

With a particular focus on target 8.4 IMPROVE RESOURCE EFFICIENCY IN CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION

Through extensive knowledge and technical support, we help our customers extend the life of their products through corrosion protection and maintenance. In this way, together we save the earth's resources and extend the lifecycle of our products, reducing expensive costs for our customers. Wherever possible, we work with our suppliers and customers to ensure sustainable transport chains by planning purchases, deliveries and business trips so that our environmental impact from transport is minimised.

Goal 12: Sustainable consumption and production

With a particular focus on target 12.4 RESPONSIBLE MANAGEMENT OF CHEMICALS AND WASTE

At Tribotec, we have extensive experience in the safe handling of chemicals and waste and recognise the importance of responsible management of hazardous substances to prevent releases to our local environment. We work with the precautionary principle rather than risking spillages and putting ourselves and our customers at risk. We also offer a wide range of environmentally friendly products from our 'green line' ranges, such as non-labelled adhesives, anti-corrosion plastics containing recycled plastics, eco-smart packaging and products based on renewable resources (such as vegetable oils and soybeans), instead of petroleum-based products. We also provide product training on safe chemical handling to minimise the risk of our customers developing allergies.
