A glimpse from the factory floor – precision down to the smallest detail when lubricating O-rings

O-rings lubricated with NSF-approved silicone oil OKS 1035/1 and used in production in factories and industry.

Mr Mats Inge, who is our product manager for lubricants, has been out on the factory floor and seen one of our NSF-approved products in action in real life, making a difference to day-to-day operations.

Whilst there, he saw, amongst other things, how O-rings are lubricated with silicone oil and then passed on to the next stage of production. High standards are set for the fitting of gaskets and O-rings: the lubricant must protect rubber and plastic without affecting the material – whilst also being completely safe in the event of accidental contact with sensitive products.

With OKS 1035/1 (NSF H1) silicone oil, you get:
– Excellent adhesion and sealing
– High temperature resistance
– Complete protection against drying out, ageing and wear and tear

Seeing the products in action in a live operating environment provides important knowledge and insights – experiences that help us at Tribotec to continue guiding our customers towards the right solutions for each specific facility.

Silicone oil OKS 1035/1 is NSF-approved for sensitive environments and is available in various pack sizes, e.g. 1 litre and 5 litres

Why lubricate O-rings? 3 quick tips from Tribotec:

– Protection against damage during fitting: reduces friction so that the rubber
fits perfectly into place without pinching, tearing or twisting.
– Maximum density: fills microscopic irregularities and provides an extra barrier against leakage under pressure.
– Longer service life: protects against drying out, ageing and wear – particularly in moving parts and at high temperatures.
Always use a compatible, NSF H1-approved silicone grease (such as OKS 1035/1) to ensure complete safety in sensitive areas.
