Almost everyone has at some point had problems with products, details starting to attack by rust. In most cases, mechanical processing is used to remove rust but there is another way to remove rust and that is with a rust remover.
Cortec VpCI 422 is an environmentally friendly, cost-effective product that is an excellent alternative to time-consuming mechanical processing. Cortec 422 is 100% biodegradable, easy to use and is applied by spray or dip. After application, the rust remover dissolves the rust which can then be washed off with an alkaline detergent (e.g. Cortec VpCI 410 series).
The time to dissolve the rust depends on the size/depth of the rust infestation. Cortec VpCI 422 works on a variety of materials such as metal, wood, plastic and painted surfaces. Unlike other rust removers, Cortec VpCI 422 is citrus based, making it non-toxic and non-flammable. This allows the product to be used in production processes without affecting production personnel in most cases.
The product is approved according to ASTM F-519-05.
