An innovation to minimise carcinogens in the work environment that affect generations.
In Sweden, thousands of workers are currently exposed to chromium6, or hexavalent chromium, in their work environment, a highly carcinogenic substance used in, for example, rustproofing and surface treatment of metal products.
Hexavalent chromium causes lung cancer and damages the genetic code. Therefore, there is no limit value for safe exposure. Other health effects of hexavalent chromium include damage to the respiratory tract, kidney, liver and skin.
We are therefore pleased to present a new addition to our range of lubricants, which minimises the risk of hexavalent chromium!
OKS 210 is a high-purity screw joint paste that is unique in its kind as it minimises harmful chromium6 formation when high-alloy steel is exposed to high temperatures. OKS 210 is also NSF H1-labelled and can be recommended for the food industry, chemical industry or energy and power plants.
